An exploration in Book Arts, this project is a combination of the crafts, skills, and techniques of bookbinding; printmaking, in letterpress and screen printing; graphic design and illustration; storytelling; web design; and a whole lot of problem-solving and troubleshooting.

The end result--?

Four stories, written in abbreviated (aka Cliff Notes) style

​

Four maps to illustrate the stories, in different map types (blueprint, highway/road, waterway/explorer/cross-section, and topographic) and design styles

​

And an enclosure/structure to house the tangible map illustrations, each of which is made into a folio-style fold-out board map. The structure as a whole is meant to appear as a book, with the mapboards being the 'pages'-- OR, when laid on its side, simulate the effect of a flat file or map drawers.
